The University of Southern California (USC) is a big school in Los Angeles, California. It started in 1880, making it the oldest private school in the state. Over 47,000 students study there, learning about many subjects like arts, sciences, and movies.
USC is famous for its sports teams, called the Trojans. They play in many games and have won lots of prizes. The school also has a special horse mascot named Traveler and a famous statue called Tommy Trojan.
Students at USC can choose from many different subjects to study. Some popular choices are film, engineering, and business. The school has a wonderful place for film students called the School of Cinematic Arts, where famous directors and actors learned their skills.
USC has many fun traditions. One of the most famous is the school’s fight song, “Fight On!” It was made in 1922 by a student who studied teeth. Students also enjoy big games against other schools, especially against UCLA.
Many famous people went to USC. Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the Moon, studied there. George Lucas, who made Star Wars, also went to USC. The school’s film school has helped win many prizes, more than any other school in the world!
Because USC is close to Hollywood, many movies and TV shows are filmed there. You might have seen USC in films like Forrest Gump or The Social Network. Its beautiful buildings make it a favorite spot for filmmakers.
USC is a place where students can learn, have fun, and make memories, all in the heart of sunny Los Angeles.
