Who Was William Harvey?

William Harvey was an English doctor who lived a long time ago. He loved to learn about how our bodies work. He studied how the heart and blood move inside us.

What Did William Harvey Discover?

William Harvey discovered how blood travels in our bodies. He found out that blood moves in a circle. It goes from the heart to all parts of the body and then returns to the heart. This is called circulation. He also learned that the heart pumps blood to places like the brain and other parts.

Why Do We Remember Him?

Because of his discoveries, doctors today know more about how to help people with health problems. William Harvey's work helped change medicine. People still talk about his smart ideas even now.

Where Did He Live?

William Harvey was born in a town called Folkestone. He studied in Italy at a university there. Later, he worked in London and even helped kings. He passed away in a place called Essex.
