Zealand

Zealand is the biggest and most crowded island in Denmark. It is home to over 2.3 million people, which is a big part of Denmark's population. The island's capital city, Copenhagen, is mostly on Zealand and is a very important place.

Zealand connects to many other places by bridges. It links to Funen by the Great Belt Fixed Link and to Amager through bridges in Copenhagen. From Amager, you can cross the Øresund Bridge to Scania in Sweden. In the south, the Storstrøm Bridge and the Farø Bridges link it to Falster and Lolland.

Important cities on Zealand include Roskilde, Hillerød, Næstved, Helsingør, Slagelse, Køge, Holbæk, and Kalundborg. These cities are places where many people live and work.

Zealand is divided into two regions: the Capital Region and the Zealand Region. The island is very special because of its many connections and busy cities.
