Who Was Amphitryon?

Amphitryon was a famous person from Greek mythology. He was born in Tiryns, a city in Argolis. Many stories and plays were written about him, and he is remembered for his special place in ancient tales.

Amphitryon married a woman named Alcmene. Together, they had children. Because of this, he became the stepfather of a very famous hero named Heracles. His life and adventures are still talked about today.

Stories and Plays

The story of Amphitryon has been told in many fun plays. A Roman writer named Plautus wrote a funny play called Amphitryon. Later, a French writer named Molière also made a play about him. People all over have enjoyed these stories for many years.

Because of these plays, Amphitryon’s name is still known, and his story continues to be shared with new generations.
