The Night Sky
The night sky is what we see when we look up after the Sun goes down. It is filled with wonderful things like stars, planets, and the Moon. People all around the world have looked at the night sky for thousands of years and felt amazed by its beauty.
When we look up, we can see tiny points of light that are stars. Some stars are blue, and some are red, but most look white. The night sky also has special lights called aurorae, which sometimes dance in the sky near the polar circles. These lights can make beautiful colors like green and purple.
Many people love to find patterns in the stars called constellations. One famous constellation is Orion, which looks like a person with a belt. Another well-known group is the Big Dipper, which helps us find the north star, Polaris. Finding these patterns can be like solving a fun puzzle in the sky.
Sometimes, we can see the bright Venus in the night sky. It looks like a shiny star and is easy to spot near sunset or sunrise. Other planets like Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn are also there, but they move slowly, so you may need to look for them on different nights.
The Moon is a special friend in the night sky. It changes shape every night and can even be seen during the day. Sometimes, near sunset, the Moon looks orange or red, which is very pretty. Looking up at the night sky can be a peaceful and magical experience for everyone.
