Super Kabaddi League

The Super Kabaddi League (SKL) is a professional kabaddi league in Pakistan. It started its first season from 1 to 10 May 2018 in Lahore. The league uses a city-based franchise model, meaning each team represents a different city.

More than 100 kabaddi players from Pakistan and other countries joined the league. The players were chosen during a draft event on 23 April 2018, also held in Lahore. Players from Sri Lanka, Iran, Bangladesh, and Malaysia took part in the first season, making the league exciting and competitive.

Draft

The first season of the Super Kabaddi League started on April 23, 2018. Ten teams took turns picking their players. Each team chose 10 players. This included 2 top players, 7 good players, and 1 player from another country.

Opening ceremony

The first big celebration for the Super Kabaddi League happened on May 1, 2018, at the Alhamra Cultural Complex in Lahore. Actress Reema Khan helped lead the event. Singers Nabeel Shaukat Ali and Sara Raza Khan performed songs for everyone.

It was the biggest kabaddi event ever held in Pakistan. Many people came to watch, including team owners and officials from the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation. The Bakhshi Brothers also performed during the ceremony.

Teams and locations

The Super Kabaddi League had teams from many cities in Pakistan in 2018. These cities included Peshawar, Islamabad, Muzaffarabad, Lahore, Gwadar, Sahiwal, Gujrat, Multan, Faisalabad, and Karachi.

Broadcast

The Super Kabaddi League was shown live on TV. The matches aired on PTV Sports. After the show, the games were repeated the next day.

Final

The Gujrat Warriors won the first Super Kabaddi League. They beat the Faisalabad Sherdils in the final game. Tehseen Ullah from the Gujrat Warriors was named the best player of the final match. Nasir Ali, the captain of Faisalabad, was named the best player of the whole league. The winning team received a cash prize, and the team that came in second also received a prize.
