The state of Ohio is important in American politics, and knowing which political parties hold power there helps us understand how the government works. This article looks at who is in charge of different jobs in Ohio, like the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and other leaders such as the Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, and State Auditor.
We will also see which party has more members in important groups like the State Senate and State House of Representatives. This tells us which ideas and plans are more likely to be approved.
During years when people vote for the President of the United States, we can see which party’s candidate got Ohio’s votes. We will also learn about the Ohio Apportionment Board, which decides how to divide Ohio into areas for voting, helping make fair elections for the Ohio General Assembly. All this information comes after each United States Census, which counts how many people live in the country.
