Political party strength in South Carolina

In the U.S. state of South Carolina, many important leaders are chosen by voting. This includes the Governor, who leads the whole state, and other leaders like the Lieutenant Governor, who helps the governor. There are also leaders for specific jobs such as the Secretary of State, who handles important papers and records, and the Attorney General, who makes sure laws are followed.

Besides these leaders, South Carolina has a group of people called the State Senate and another group called the State House of Representatives. These groups help make the rules for the state. They work together to decide what’s best for everyone living there.

South Carolina also sends people to work in Washington, D.C., which is the nation’s capital. These leaders are part of the State delegation to the U.S. Senate and the State delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives. During years when the country chooses a new president, South Carolina’s votes go to one of the parties’ nominees.
