Uzbekistan at the 2000 Summer Olympics

Uzbekistan sent athletes to the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The country was represented by the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

A total of 70 athletes from Uzbekistan took part, with 52 men and 18 women competing in 11 different sports. These sports included athletics, boxing, canoeing, fencing, gymnastics, judo, shooting, swimming, tennis, weightlifting, and wrestling.

Uzbekistan brought home four medals from the games. Mahammatkodir Abdoollayev won a gold medal, while Sergey Mihaylov and Rustam Saidov each won bronze in boxing. In wrestling, Artur Taymazov secured a silver medal.

Artur Taymazov claimed silver in the wrestling freestyle –130 kg. Sergey Mihaylov and Rustam Saidov won bronze in their boxing categories – light heavyweight and super heavyweight.
