What is Anatolia?

Anatolia is a big area that makes up most of the land of Turkey. It is a peninsula, which means it is surrounded by water on three sides. The Mediterranean Sea is to the south, the Aegean Sea is to the west, and the Black Sea is to the north.

A Place Full of History

People have lived in Anatolia for thousands of years. During the Neolithic period, farmers from Anatolia helped spread farming to Europe. Many different cultures and languages have called Anatolia home, including the Hattians, Hittites, and the Greeks.

Why We Remember Anatolia

Today, Anatolia is mostly part of Turkey. The name "Anatolia" comes from a Greek word meaning "the East." It is a land of rich history and many cultures, showing how different peoples have lived and worked together over time.
