The Houmuwu Ding is one of the heaviest bronze vessels ever made, dating back to China's Shang Dynasty. It is an important historical artifact displayed in the National Museum of China.

Discovering Anyang

Anyang is a big, busy city in China. It is in a province called Henan and is the very northernmost city there. Anyang touches many places, like Puyang to the east and Shanxi to the west.

Over five million people call Anyang home! Many live in the city's main areas, enjoying life together.

A Place Full of History

Anyang is very special because it holds pieces of the past. Long ago, a very old city named Yin stood here. Yin was the capital of the Shang dynasty, one of the earliest times in Chinese history. Because of this rich past, Anyang became a national historical and cultural city in 1986.

People have lived in this area since the Stone Age. Old tools and animal bones have been found here, showing how life was many thousands of years ago. Kings and leaders lived near here a long time ago, too.

Nature and Seasons

Anyang covers a large area of land. The west is higher, with the beginnings of the Taihang Mountains, and the east is flatter, part of the North China Plain. The city enjoys four beautiful seasons. Winters are cold and dry, while summers are warm and a bit wet. Rain mostly comes in July and August, and the sun shines brightly from April to June.

Anyang is a place where old history meets new life, and it keeps growing and changing for its many people.
