Welcome to Calabria
Calabria is a beautiful region in Southern Italy. It looks like a toe sticking out into the sea. The area is surrounded by the blue waters of the Ionian Sea on one side and the Tyrrhenian Sea on the other. A narrow strip of water called the Strait of Messina separates it from the island of Sicily.
Nature and Views
Calabria is full of amazing nature. It has tall mountains, green forests, and lovely beaches. Three big natural parks protect parts of this beautiful land: the Pollino National Park, the Sila National Park, and the Aspromonte National Park. These parks are great places for hiking and enjoying the outdoors.
History and Culture
People have lived in Calabria for a very long time. Ancient groups like the Ancient Greeks came here and built cities. They named the land “Italia,” and this name later grew to cover the whole country! Many important people lived here, such as Pythagoras, a great math thinker, and Herodotus, a famous storyteller.
Food and Fun
Calabria is also known for its tasty food. The region makes special cheeses, sweet pastries, and strong spicy sausage called 'Nduja. Fish and pasta are also very popular meals. The land grows lovely fruits and makes tasty wines too.
