The Celtic Sea is a beautiful part of the Atlantic Ocean. It is close to the southern coast of Ireland. This special sea touches many lands, such as parts of Wales, Cornwall, and Devon, as well as Brittany in France.

People call it the Celtic Sea after the Celtic people who lived nearby long ago. Experts decided on this name in 1921 so everyone could use just one name for this area. The sea has interesting sea creatures like minke whales, bottlenose dolphins, and harbor porpoises.

Under the Celtic Sea is a special area called the Celtic Shelf. It has sandy ridges made long ago by tides. Some oil and gas was found here, and big floating wind farms might be built soon to help make electricity.

The Celtic Sea is a wonderful place full of life and stories from the past. It connects many lands and holds many secrets under its waves.
