County Londonderry
County Londonderry is a special place in Northern Ireland. It is also called County Derry. This county is next to the big lake called Lough Neagh. About 252,231 people live here today.
People sometimes call the place Derry or Londonderry. The name Derry comes from an old Irish word that means "oak-grove" or "oak-wood".
County Londonderry has many interesting spots. You can see old stone buildings and beautiful hills. One tall hill is Sawel Mountain, which is 678 metres tall. There are also pretty beaches along the Atlantic coast.
The city of Derry has strong, old walls that were built a long time ago. There are also lovely spots like Mussenden Temple on the coast and old forests to explore.
County Londonderry has several towns. The biggest is Derry, but there are also places like Coleraine, Limavady, and Magherafelt. Smaller villages such as Bellaghy and Castledawson are also home to many friendly people.
The county is a wonderful place to visit, with lots of green spaces, historic sites, and friendly towns to explore.
