Gloucestershire Old Spots

Gloucestershire Old Spots are a special kind of pig from England. They are mostly white with black spots all over their body. These pigs get their name from the place called Gloucestershire. They are very gentle and easy to take care of.

These pigs are smart and can have big families with many baby pigs. That makes them great for farmers who let their pigs live outside on grassy land. Male pigs can grow very big, while female pigs are a little smaller.

Gloucestershire Old Spots are loved by important people like The Prince of Wales and The Princess Royal. Even though they come from simple beginnings, these pigs are now chosen again by farmers. They are calm and good-natured, and the mothers are very careful with their babies.

There are very few Gloucestershire Old Spots left today. They are an endangered breed, which means we need to take good care of them. Their meat has a special award from the European Commission, showing it is different and special from other pork.
