Gujarat

Gujarat is a beautiful state along the western coast of India. It has a very long coastline, the longest in the country. Gujarat is famous for many things, including its rich history and special animals.

Where It Is

Gujarat touches several places. To the northwest, it borders Pakistan. To the northeast, it meets Rajasthan. To the east, it touches Madhya Pradesh, and to the south, it borders Maharashtra and the special area called the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. The capital city is Gandhinagar, and the largest city is Ahmedabad.

Ancient History and Special Places

Gujarat has many ancient sites from the Indus Valley Civilisation, like Lothal. Lothal is thought to be one of the world's first seaports. Gujarat's coastal cities have always been important for trade. Today, Gujarat is one of India's most industrialised states. It has a strong economy and many jobs.

The Only Home for Wild Asiatic Lions

One of the most special places in Gujarat is Gir National Park. This park is the only home to wild Asiatic lions in the world. These lions are very rare and important to protect.
