Welcome to Hesse!

Hesse is a beautiful state in Germany. It is one of the bigger states, with over six million people living there. The capital city is Wiesbaden, but the largest and most famous city is Frankfurt am Main. Frankfurt is very important because it is the main money center for Germany.

Famous Cities and Places

Hesse has many interesting cities. Besides Frankfurt, there is Wiesbaden, Darmstadt, and Kassel. These cities have rich histories and lots of things to see. The area around Frankfurt, called Frankfurt Rhine-Main, is very busy and full of people. It is the second largest area in Germany, just after Rhine-Ruhr.

Nature and Geography

Hesse is not on the coast, but it has many beautiful forests and hills. It touches six other states, making it a place where many regions meet. The land is covered with trees, and there are small mountain ranges like the Rhön, the Taunus, and the Vogelsberg. The Rhine River runs along the southwestern border, adding to the natural beauty.
