Independence Hall
Independence Hall is a very old and important building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is where leaders made big decisions a long time ago. Two very important papers were made and approved here: the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States.
The building was finished in 1733 and was first called the Pennsylvania State House. It has a red brick outside and looks special today. People from all over visit Independence Hall to learn about history.
Independence Hall is part of Independence National Historical Park. It was named a special place called a World Heritage Site in 1979. The park also has other important buildings like Congress Hall and the Liberty Bell.
The biggest room inside, called the Assembly Room, is where the leaders met. It is very old and looks like it did many years ago. People work hard to keep the building safe so everyone can visit and remember history.
Independence Hall is very famous and appears on the back of the U.S. $100 bill. It is a symbol of freedom and fairness for the United States.
