What Is an International Airport?
An international airport is a special place where airplanes take off and land. It has special rooms to check passports and make sure everyone is safe when they travel between countries. These airports are usually bigger than smaller airports that only fly within one country.
International airports have long roads for airplanes, called runways, so big planes like the Boeing 747 can land and take off. These big planes help people fly far away to places like England or Saudi Arabia.
Why Are They Important?
These airports help millions of people travel every year. They have special rules to keep everyone safe and make sure flights run on time. Airports also have shops where travelers can buy things, and places to rest and eat.
Some international airports are very famous. For example, Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. It helps many people start or end their trips.
International airports make the world feel smaller by helping people visit new places and meet new friends. They are exciting places full of activity and adventure!
