Juan Crespí was a kind and curious man who loved to explore new places. He was born on 1 March 1721 in Mallorca and grew up wanting to help others.

Crespí traveled to a place called Las Californias. This area was not well known, and many people were curious about it. He worked with other explorers like Junípero Serra and Gaspar de Portolá to help people learn more about this new land.

He traveled to many places that are now part of California, including San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Crespí even gave Los Angeles its name. He wrote about his journeys, which helped others understand more about these places.

Today, Juan Crespí is remembered for his kindness and his adventures. Schools and places are named after him, like Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino. His stories continue to inspire people to explore and help others.
