Los Angeles Angels

The Los Angeles Angels are a fun baseball team from Anaheim, California. They play in Major League Baseball and are part of the American League West Division. Their home games are at Angel Stadium since 1966.

The team started in 1961 in Los Angeles, thanks to a famous singer named Gene Autry. It was one of the first new teams in Major League Baseball. Later, they moved to Anaheim and changed their name a few times. Today, they are called the Los Angeles Angels.

The Angels have had many great players, like Nolan Ryan, Rod Carew, and Reggie Jackson. Their biggest win was in 2002 when they won the World Series. Today, fans love watching players like Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani.

Fun Traditions

Angel Stadium has a special area called the “California Spectacular.” It looks like a mountain and has a waterfall. Before games and when the team scores, it shoots fireworks! Fans also enjoy the song “Calling All Angels” at the start of each game.

There is a fun mascot called the Rally Monkey. When the Angels need a win, the Rally Monkey jumps and dances on the screen, encouraging everyone to cheer louder!

Why People Love Them

Millions of fans come to see the Angels each year. They have special cheers like “Light That Baby Up!” when the tall “A” at the stadium lights up after a win. The team also uses thundersticks to make exciting noises during games.

The Angels are loved not just in baseball, but also in movies and TV shows. They have been part of funny stories in programs like The Jeffersons and The Big Bang Theory.
