McGill University
McGill University is a big school in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It started in 1821 and is named after James McGill, a kind man from Scotland. The school sits on the beautiful slope of Mount Royal.
People know McGill because it teaches many things like Arts, Science, Medicine, and Engineering. It is special because it is one of only two schools outside the United States that belong to a group called the Association of American Universities.
Many famous people studied at McGill. Some became important leaders, and others made cool discoveries. McGill is also part of big groups that help schools all over the world, like the World Economic Forum.
McGill has many students from many places. It has big buildings and nice gardens. Students can join many clubs and teams, like hockey and baseball. The school has a special color—scarlet—and a bird symbol called a martlet.
McGill helps students learn and grow. It has libraries with millions of books and places to do research. Many smart people, even winners of big prizes, came from McGill. The school makes sure everyone can learn together in a happy place.
