Michael Jeffrey Jordan, also called MJ, is a famous person known for playing basketball. He was born on February 17, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York City. Later, his family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina.

Jordan grew up playing many sports, including basketball, baseball, and football. Even when he was first told he was too short to join the main basketball team, he worked hard and grew taller. By the time he finished high school, he was a great player.

He started his professional basketball career in the National Basketball Association with the Chicago Bulls in 1984. Jordan was known for his amazing scoring and ability to jump high, earning the nickname "Air Jordan." He helped the Bulls win many championships and became one of the most famous basketball players ever.

Jordan also played for the United States national team and won four gold medals, including at the 1984 Summer Olympics and 1992 Summer Olympics. He was very popular and made many product endorsements, especially for Nikeโ€™s Air Jordan sneakers. He even starred in the fun movie Space Jam.

Today, Jordan is remembered as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He inspired many young players and helped make basketball popular around the world.
