New York Harbor
New York Harbor is a big, beautiful bay near New York City. It is found at the end of the Hudson River and next to the East River. This harbor touches parts of New York and New Jersey, like Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Jersey City.
New York Harbor is one of the largest natural harbors in the whole world! It helps many ships and boats travel safely. Because it is so big and in a great spot, it has been very important for trade and travel for a long time.
The harbor has several special islands, like Governors Island, Ellis Island, and Liberty Island, where the famous Statue of Liberty stands. People love to visit these islands and enjoy activities such as sailing and kayaking. The Staten Island Ferry also rides through the harbor, connecting Manhattan with Staten Island.
Today, New York Harbor is still busy with ships, boats, and even airplanes! It is a special place where history, nature, and modern life all come together.
