Welcome to Oman!

Oman is a beautiful country in the southeastern part of the Arabian Peninsula. It is surrounded by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. The cool sea breezes come from the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman. The biggest city and capital is Muscat, which is a lovely place to visit.

Oman has been a peaceful and independent country for a very long time. It has been ruled by the same family, the Al Bu Said dynasty, since 1744. Long ago, Oman was a strong trading place, and its ships even reached faraway lands like Zanzibar. Today, Oman is known for its calm ways and good life for its people.

The leader of Oman is called a Sultan. Qaboos bin Said was the Sultan from 1970 until 2020. Now, Haitham bin Tariq is the Sultan. Oman works closely with many countries and is part of groups like the United Nations and the Arab League.

Oman has many interesting places to see! The land is mostly dry deserts, but there are also tall mountains and quiet coastal towns. Some places you might visit are Sohar, Sur, Salalah, and the special part of Oman called Musandam. The weather can be very hot, but some areas get cool breezes and even a little snow on the mountains.

People in Oman enjoy many fun activities. They love watching sports like football and racing boats. Traditional dances and music are still very popular, especially during happy events. The food in Oman is tasty, with dishes made from rice, meat, fish, and sweet treats like halwa.

Oman is a wonderful place with friendly people, beautiful landscapes, and a rich history. It is special because of its peaceful ways and strong traditions.
