Yemen is a country in West Asia. It is in southern Arabia, next to Saudi Arabia to the north and Oman to the northeast. Yemen is also close to the Horn of Africa.

The main city in Yemen is Sanaa. Yemen has about 34 million people, and most are Muslims. Yemen has been important for thousands of years because of its location, connecting many different cultures.

Yemen has a long and interesting past. Ancient groups like the Sabaeans built a strong trading kingdom. Later, the Himyarite Kingdom had influence in the area. For many years, Yemen was a big place for growing and selling coffee, from the port of Mocha.

Yemen has many beautiful places. The Old City of Sanaa has tall buildings and old walls. The Old Walled City of Shibam is known for its tall mud houses. The Socotra Island has special plants and animals found nowhere else in the world.

Yemen’s landscape has mountains, coasts, and deserts. People enjoy activities like hiking in the mountains and water sports along the coast. Football is very popular in Yemen, and the country has its own teams that play in international competitions.
