The River Colne
The River Colne is a happy, winding river in England. It is a little river that flows into the big River Thames. The Colne mostly runs through the sunny county of Hertfordshire and then helps make a border between Buckinghamshire and London Borough of Hillingdon. It ends its journey at Staines-upon-Thames, close to a fun place called Penton Hook Lock.
Along its path, the river passes lovely towns and villages like Watford, Rickmansworth, and Oxhey. People have made special little rivers branch off the Colne just for beauty, like around Hampton Court and Syon Park. These little rivers are just like the New River.
The Colne has created wonderful green spaces full of animals and plants. One big area is the Colne Valley regional park, which is a lovely place for families to explore nature. The river’s meadows and lakes make this park a special spot for everyone who loves the outdoors.
