Sobhuza II - Paramount Chief of Swaziland.

Sobhuza II

Sobhuza II was the king of a beautiful country called Eswatini. He was born on July 22, 1899, in a special place named Zombodze. When he was just a baby, his father passed away, and Sobhuza became king. Because he was so young, his grandmother and a great-uncle helped lead the country until he was older.

Sobhuza II ruled Eswatini for a very, very long time—over 82 years! That is the longest reign of any king or queen in recorded history. During his time, Eswatini became independent from the United Kingdom in 1968. Sobhuza worked hard to help his people and keep their traditions strong.

When Sobhuza II passed away in 1982, his son, Mswati III, became the new king in 1986. Sobhuza II is remembered as one of the longest-reigning kings in the world, and he helped shape the history of Eswatini.
