Tenzing Norgay

Tenzing Norgay was a very brave climber from the Himalayas. He loved climbing tall mountains and helping others reach new heights.

Tenzing Norgay is most famous for climbing the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest, with a friend named Edmund Hillary in 1953. They were the first people ever to stand on the very top together. This big achievement made people all around the world admire them.

Tenzing grew up near Mount Everest in a place called Khumbu. He was a Sherpa, a group of people known for being very good climbers. Tenzing started climbing when he was young and helped many climbers carry heavy things up the mountains.

After climbing Everest, Tenzing taught other climbers and started his own company to help people explore the Himalayas. He also received many awards for his brave work. Today, many places and things are named after him, like a mountain called Tenzing Peak and a mountain range on the planet Pluto.

Tenzing Norgay passed away in 1986, but his story continues to inspire many young climbers to dream big and reach for the stars.
