The Western United States is a big part of America. It has 13 states and many different lands. Some are dry and flat, like deserts. Others are tall and green, like the Rocky Mountains.
People live in many places here. Big cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco are very busy. Small towns in Nevada and Utah are quiet and peaceful.
The West has many different kinds of people. Many come from Mexico, Germany, and other countries. Some cities have many people from Asia, like China and the Philippines.
The West is also home to many animals and plants. Forests, rivers, and mountains give animals places to live. People love to visit national parks here, like Yellowstone and Zion.
Long ago, the West was a place where many new people came to live. They traveled long roads like the Oregon Trail. Some came for gold, like in California. Others came to start new farms.
Today, the West is famous for movies, technology, and beautiful lands. Cities like Seattle and San Jose help make computers and other inventions. Places like Las Vegas are known for fun and games.
The Western United States is a special place with many stories, people, and beautiful nature. It is a big part of America that keeps growing and changing.
