The Roman Empire
The Roman Empire was a very big group of lands long ago. It started in a place called Rome in Italy. It grew to include parts of Europe, Asia, and Africa.
People remember the Roman Empire for its amazing buildings, like the Colosseum. They built roads, aqueducts, and temples that still stand today. The empire lasted for many years and had many leaders called emperors.
Rome was a busy city with lots of people. Rich families lived in big houses called villas. Most people lived in apartments. They liked to watch sports, especially chariot races, in big arenas. Life was different for everyone, but the Romans built a system that helped many cultures live together.
Even though the empire ended long ago, we still see its influence today. Many governments, laws, and buildings around the world have Roman ideas. The Roman Empire was important in shaping our world.
