Czech Republic at the 2016 Summer Olympics

Adapted from Wikipedia · Adventurer experience

The Czech Republic competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 5 to August 21, 2016. This was the country's sixth time taking part in the Olympics after it became its own nation.

The team included athletes who took part in many different sports.

The Czech Republic won ten medals. This made the 2016 Olympics one of the country’s most successful. Some medals came from sports like canoeing and tennis.

One of the top athletes was judo champion Lukáš Krpálek, who won the country’s only gold medal. Another great performance came from rower Ondřej Synek, who won a bronze medal. Flatwater canoeist Josef Dostál helped the team earn medals, and double Olympic champion Barbora Špotáková made history by winning three medals in the javelin throw. Mountain biker Jaroslav Kulhavý won a silver medal.

However, the Czech Republic did not win any medals in shooting competitions for the first time since the 1980 Summer Olympics.
