Florence is a beautiful city in Italy. It is the capital of the Tuscany region and has many people living there.
Florence is famous for its art and history. Many important artists and writers lived there, like Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. The city has many wonderful buildings, such as the Florence Cathedral with its big dome. There are also many museums, like the Uffizi Gallery, where you can see beautiful paintings.
The city is also known for its tasty food. One popular dish is bistecca alla fiorentina, a big, juicy steak cooked over charcoal. People love to visit Florence to see its art, enjoy its food, and walk through its lovely streets.
Florence is about 275 kilometres from Rome. Every year, many tourists come to see its famous sights. In 1982, UNESCO named the old part of Florence a World Heritage Site because it is so special.
