Houston Astros
The Houston Astros are a fun baseball team from Houston, Texas. They play in Major League Baseball, which is the biggest baseball league in the United States. The Astros are part of the American League West Division.
The team began in 1962 as the Houston Colt .45s. They later changed their name to the Astros when they moved into the Astrodome, the first indoor stadium for sports. Over the years, the Astros have had many great players and exciting moments.
One of the happiest moments for the team was when they won the World Series championship in 2017 and again in 2022. The World Series is the biggest baseball championship, and winning it is a big deal! The Astros have also won over 5,000 games in their history, which is a lot!
The Astros have some fun rivalries with other teams. One big rivalry is with the Texas Rangers, called the Lone Star Series. They also have exciting matchups with the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The team has a special mascot named Orbit, a lime-green space creature. Orbit reminds us of Houston’s connection to NASA, which makes the games even more fun! The Astros play their home games at Minute Maid Park, a cool stadium in Houston.
Baseball is a wonderful sport, and the Houston Astros bring lots of excitement to fans everywhere!
