Oil refinery
Adapted from Wikipedia · Explorer experience
What is an Oil Refinery?
An oil refinery is a big factory where crude oil is changed into useful products. Crude oil is like a mix of different things, and refineries separate these parts to make things we use every day.
How Do Refineries Work?
Refineries use tall towers and long pipes to separate the crude oil. They heat the oil and let it cool at different levels. This helps make products like gasoline for cars, diesel for trucks, and heating oil for homes.
Why Are Refineries Important?
Refineries help us have the fuels and materials we need. They turn crude oil into gasoline, diesel, and even materials for making plastic and building roads. The biggest refinery in the world is the Jamnagar Refinery in Gujarat, India. It can process over one million barrels of oil each day!
