Philadelphia International Airport

Philadelphia International Airport, called PHL for short, is the main airport for Philadelphia, a big city in Pennsylvania. It is one of the busiest airports in the United States. Every day, about 500 airplanes take off or land here!

The airport is about 7 miles from the center of Philadelphia. People can fly from PHL to over 130 places around the world. Some of these places are in Europe, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Many airlines use PHL. American Airlines has many flights from here, especially to the Northeastern United States. Other airlines like UPS Airlines and Frontier Airlines also fly from PHL.

The airport has six terminals where airplanes park. Each terminal has shops, restaurants, and places to wait. There are special areas for families and people who need extra help.

People can get to the airport by train, bus, car, or taxi. The SEPTA Regional Rail train stops near each terminal and takes about 25 minutes to get to the city center of Philadelphia.
