Southeast Asia

Southeast Asia is a beautiful part of Asia. It is south of China, east of the Indian subcontinent, and northwest of mainland Australia. Imagine a big map—you will see countries like Brunei, Cambodia, and Indonesia here.

This area has many people—about 676 million! They speak hundreds of languages and have many different traditions. Some people there follow Muslim beliefs, while others follow Buddhism or Christianity.

Southeast Asia is also known for its amazing nature. It has tall mountains, busy volcanoes, and beautiful islands. The Philippines and Indonesia are very active with earthquakes and volcanoes.

  • Rice Fields: Rice farming is very important. The Banaue Rice Terraces in the Philippines look like giant steps carved into the mountains.
