Tower of London

The Tower of London is a very old and famous castle in London, England. It sits right next to the River Thames, which makes it very special. People have been visiting this place for hundreds of years to see its beautiful and strong walls.

The Tower was first built a long time ago in the year 1066 by William the Conqueror. The biggest and oldest part is called the White Tower, which looks like a big stone block. This tower was where kings and queens would stay when they visited.

Today, the Tower of London is a popular place for families and friends to explore. One of the main reasons people visit is to see the shiny and sparkly Crown Jewels of England. These are very special crowns, swords, and treasures used by kings and queens during important ceremonies.

The Tower also has a big open space with old walls and towers. It used to be a place where very important people stayed and where valuable things were kept safe. Now, it is taken care of by a group called Historic Royal Palaces and is a World Heritage Site, meaning it is very important to everyone.

Many visitors also enjoy hearing stories about the Tower’s long history and seeing the beautiful views from its high towers. It is a wonderful place to learn about the past and imagine life hundreds of years ago.
