Australia took part in the men's basketball tournament at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. The team played many matches against teams like Puerto Rico, the Unified Team, Venezuela, China, and Lithuania.

In the quarterfinals, Australia played against Croatia and then faced Germany in a match to decide the 5th to 8th places. Finally, Australia played against Brazil for the 5th place.
